Bowtown Music Band Camp
Band Camp is a creative journey, in which young musicians learn the intricacies of the music business, experiencing a week in the life of a recording artist. Students write music, learn branding/marketing, record in a professional studio, and perform for a live audience. Bowtown Music Band Camp runs in August of each year.
About Band Camp
Band Camp is a one-week program hosted in August by Bowtown Music. Running from Monday to Friday, each day begins at 10 am and ends at 4 pm. Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. Each band will have at least one instructor working with them. The bands will then choose a cover song or create an original composition, rehearse and record. Campers will create a band name, a logo, and a CD cover. Each member will receive a copy of the CD in a case with covers designed by the group. Campers will be introduced to a variety of instruments, musical genres and history, jamming and how a recording studio operates. On Saturday, the bands will perform for their families at either Bowtown Music or at a local venue in Calgary.
Band Camp is an exceptional opportunity for students who wish to strengthen their musical abilities, experience working as a team, learn about recording and record their band’s sound.
Camp Leaders are; Andrew Balboa, Rahbek Solomons, and Tara Stiles.
