Bowtown Music Policy
There is a one-time registration fee of $30 per family.
Once you have paid the registration fee, you have the option to pay for a half hour try out lesson with an instructor before committing to semester payment.
We require payment for the entire semester. A 10% discount will be applied for semester payment in full received prior to the start of the semester. Once the semester has begun you will no longer be eligible for this discount. In-home lessons are a minimum of one hour.
The Semesters are as follows;
Fall – September – December
Winter – January – March
Spring – April – June
Summer Lessons can be paid monthly. There is no semester payment required.
July – August
For those who wish to pay for the semester through monthly instalments, we require your credit card on file. An automatic withdrawal for monthly lessons will be charged to your card on the first of every month.
There will be an administration fee of $5 for one-month payments and $10 for semester payments.
Cancellation: We require a one month notice to cancel lessons.
We do not offer make-up lessons or reschedule missed lessons. The fees paid are to reserve a spot on our schedule. If an instructor is not able to provide a lesson, a substitute instructor will be provided. If a substitute is not available, the instructor will schedule a make-up lesson with the student.
Drop in Card
You can purchase a drop-in card which will allow you to book within 24 hours before a lesson. A one-time registration fee of $30 will be applied to your total.
There are no lessons on provincial holidays.
Damage Deposit – $75 for guitars,violins, banjos,ukuleles and amps – $300 for pianos
Rental rates for Bowtown Music students are $25 per month
Rental rates for non students are $50 per month – $20 per week
Payments will be charged automatically on credit at the beginning of each month unless paid in person.
If you decide to purchase an instrument from our store within three months, your monthly payments will be applied to the cost of the instrument. If you decide to purchase your rental instrument after three months, 50% of your monthly payments will be applied to the cost of the instrument.
Room rental is $30 per hour.
We charge $75 an hour and require a minimum of two hours for booking a recording session. We ask for an initial payment of $150 at the beginning of your recording session, which will be applied to the total cost for services rendered. We require a 24-hour cancellation notice – less than 24 hours will result in loss of deposit. Included in this service is a CD from your session. Additional services available with your recording are music accompaniment, production and custom CD labels.
