Our instructors are carefully chosen for their high degree of skill, knowledge and dedication to ensure that each student receives individually tailored lessons in a positive, supportive, friendly environment.

Andrew Balboa

Andrew studied Opera at the prestigious McGill University for 5 years. His ambition is to pursue a career in Opera, and continue to share his deep love and passion for music to up and coming youth. Andrew has a strong understanding of music theory, disciplined patience, strong communication skills and a sincere connection to music enthusiasts. 
Andrew teaches voice, piano, guitar, bass, drums and music theory.

Rahbek Salomons

In 2014 Rahbek completed a diploma at Grant MacEwan University in Jazz Guitar. She continues to perform & record, recently opening for the Trews as lead guitarist for Edmonton rock band, Marystown. She has also recorded with Calgary rock group, T.L.L.C.  Rahbek has a diverse background, ranging from intense metal styles to soft jazz, and with her passion for music, she hopes to inspire her students to be life long musicians.

Tara Stiles

Tara’s love of music from a young age has led her to achieve her Diploma in Audio Engineering at the Centre for Arts & Technology in Kelowna, BC.  She is currently certified in grade 5 in RCM as well as grade 2 RCM Music Theory.  She is a dedicated teacher whose students love her style of teaching.

Dave Bauer

Dave is a born and raised Calgarian. He took up guitar at age 12 and has been playing professionally, recording and teaching for over 10 years.  He is a talented musician who loves to teach students of all ages.
Dave teaches guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele and bouzouki.

Tiffiny Chine

Tiffiny is a passionate multi-instrumentalist and advocate for musical learning and all its many benefits.  She specializes in teaching piano and vocal lessons through addressing goals and supporting the particular strengths and learning styles of each student while providing a solid foundation in the fundamentals of music including rhythm, technique, and theoretical application. Tiffiny has studied through the Royal Conservatory of Music, completing her grade 9 RCM exam at the age of 15 and is currently working to complete her grade 10 ARCT.

Craig Silver

Craig holds a BA in Sociology as well as a Bachelor of Education from Crandall University. He has been involved in music and singing on stage from the age of 6. He sang for 2 years with a professional black gospel choir called “Chorale of Reconciliation” from Montreal who released their first CD in 2006 called Heartquake/ Tremblement de Coeur. On his time off he taught guitar and helped train vocalists.

Craig teaches guitar, ukulele, vocal and drums.

Priya Bosman

Priya is a student with a passion for music of all sorts. She has been studying classical violin and music theory since she was eight years old; she has completed her advanced rudiments, and is currently pursuing her grade eight RCM certification. Along the way, Priya has also picked up acoustic guitar and ukulele. She has attended various orchestra and chamber music summer schools and is excited to share her love of music with all students.

Eric Svilpis

Eric grew up around music, his mother is an organist and his father plays guitar. Largely self-taught, Eric has played guitar for 19 years, electric bass for 11 years, and upright bass for 6, and has been performing on stages across the country for the last 14 years with a plethora of different musical acts. In addition to teaching music for the past 6 years, Eric stays very active in the local music scene producing and engineering records for all kinds of acts in the city, ranging from acoustic folk and alt-country, to experimental textural projects and free jazz.

Herbert Mielczarek

Herbert has studied music for over 16 years and graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor in Music. He was trained classically on the piano and has experience conducting and singing with choirs. He is a very versatile musician and works well with students of all ages and abilities.

Mariah Lansdell

Mariah holds Bachelor of Music with a focus in vocal performance and education. Apart from Classical singing, she also enjoys working in the fields of jazz, pop, and musical theater, having competed at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival in Chicago with the University of Calgary Jazz Orchestra. Teaching has always been Mariah’s passion, her philosophy is: Achieve excellence through kindness. She loves sharing her passion, and using music to create a meaningful life.

Joshua Chau

Joshua has been playing the classical violin for over a decade and has many years of experience working with young children as well as adults. He is well versed in orchestral and chamber music and is a strong believer in the fundamentals of the instrument. Joshua welcomes students of all levels.

Alec Carton

Alec is a patient and multi-talented musician. He has been playing music for over 10 years. Beginning with learning piano and musical theory, he also learned to play the guitar. Instructed in the Royal Conservatory of Music up to Grade 6, he branched off learning new styles and techniques. His favorite type of music to play and listen to is the blues. He has been asked to play at various events and gatherings as a performer to provide music for these social functions. Alec enjoys playing and is a determined  individual with a desire to teach his passion to others.

Talia Hillmer

Talia grew up in the small town of Carman, Manitoba where she attained her Grade 9 RCM certificate in piano, and ARCT in piano pedagogy. Her goal is to continue her studies and complete her ARCT in piano pedagogy. She has a strong desire to share her passion of music with students and assist them in achieving their own goals.

Jesse Jones

Jesse is a composer, performing artist, and teacher who has been living and working in Calgary since 2014. Jesse started his first band when he was 14, and began making his own recordings shortly after.  In addition to earning a college education in Contemporary Music and Technology in Nelson, BC, Jesse has owned his own recording studio and played in over a dozen bands, always supplementing these experiences with teaching music. Jesse’s experience and ability makes him an excellent instructor and guide to your journey into the world of music.

Nick Bosman

Nick is a passionate musician with many years of musical experience! For 12 years, Nick studied piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music and successfully completed his Grade 10 Examination with First Class Honours. Throughout his musical career, he has competed in many Kiwanis Music Festivals, joined tons of summer music camps, and performed at many recitals. Nick has taught many piano students of all ages and musical abilities. He has taught students trying music for the first time, students pursuing their Grade 9 RCM examinations, and everything in between. Overall, Nick has a strong love for music. In recent, months, he even took singing lessons for fun, but is still pretty embarrassed to sing on front of anyone!

Anthony Bijak

Anthony has been playing guitar for over 10 years and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of Calgary. While his musical background is diverse, his predominant playing style is jazz. His interests outside of guitar include producing and recording engineering. Anthony is a dedicated teacher with a passion for sharing his musical knowledge. He welcomes students of all ages and skill levels.
