Every summer in August, Bowtown Music will host a band camp. The camp will be a one week event beginning on Monday and ending on Friday. Each day is expected to go from 11am to 4pm when campers will be guided by our instructors through a process of learning and practicing a piece of music as a group. Often there are multiple groups formed depending on the number of campers involved. At the end of the week the participants will go into the recording studio to record their music. Each member will receive a copy of the CD in a case with covers designed by the groups. The camps are a great learning experience and loads of fun! Check out the video from Bowtown Music Band Camp 2016.
Band Camp 2017 at Bowtown is a stand out opportunity for students who wish to strengthen their musical abilities, experience working as a team, learn about recording and record their band’s sound.
Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. Each band will have at least one instructor to work with them. The bands will then choose a song or create one, rehearse and record their sound. Campers will create a band name, a logo, and a CD cover. Campers will also be introduced to a variety of instruments, musical genres and history, jamming and how a recording studio operates. On Saturday, the bands will perform for their families at either Bowtown Music or at a local venue in Calgary (to be announced).
Camp Leaders are; Andrew Balboa, Rahbek Solomons, Alec Carton and Tara Stiles with Kuba Suttles.
A registration form must be filled out and submitted with a $100 non-refundable registration fee.
